In January 2025, the LA Galaxy soccer club reached out to Tokens & Icons looking to create custom gifts utilizing the netting from their MLS Cup Championship match, during which they secured their league-record sixth title in early December 2024.
As Tokens had done product development with Yankee Stadium backstop netting before, stretching the netting over a shadow box frame with a vintage photo in the background that simulated the experience of the spectator behind directly behind the backstop, we suggested the same concept to the LA Galaxy.

The LA Galaxy loved the idea and provided Tokens with a photo of their star player kicking the winning goal...giving the impression of being behind the goal.
We crafted 60 shadow box frames from repurposed, excess stadium wood from a prior project. The key, however, was getting the net to be taut as the material had a good amount of give and stretchiness to it.
In terms of provenance, we kept it simple: the game, the date, the final score, and what the net was, all subtly engraved at the bottom of the shadow box frame.
Every shadow box came with a custom Thank You card + COA.
