Each MLB artifact is authenticated under the auspices of the MLB Authentication Program and carries a uniquely numbered hologram that allows fans to verify their item at MLB.com/authentication. MLB Authenticators witness, log, and adhere holograms to each uniform that comes out of play. Tokens acquires uniforms from the teams and a MLB Authenticator affixes an additional secure hologram to each swatch and logs the information (example shown on right). when fans enter the wallet's hologram into MLB's site, it reveals the player who wore the uniform and the date it was retired from play. FAQ: Can I order a specific player, game or opponent?
This collection is about team spirit rather than the player, specific game or opponent. We avoid high-cost star player's game used uniforms in order to keep our items affordable. We seek regular season game used uniforms worn by players (current or past as there is much movement in the leagues today) that ought to be recognizable by the average fan as having played for the team. Over the years we have been asked to provide player names prior to an order being placed. This is not practical for several reasons. 1) These items are licensed by Major League Baseball rather than the Major League Baseball Players Association so we are required to emphasize team rather than player. 2) With 30 teams, each with a 40 man roster, plus 162 games over multiple seasons, the likelihood of us having a specific player, game or opponent is basically zero. We hope you’ll place your order and carry your team with you wherever you may go.
The Major League Baseball Authentication Program is the most comprehensive league-wide memorabilia authentication initiative in professional sports. Since its launch in 2001, it has become the industry standard for game used sports authentication. MLB stations an authenticator at every game played throughout the season. This demonstrates a commitment to ensuring all game used artifacts are genuine. For more information, please visit Authentication.
